Account and data deletion

1. Asking to close your account

You can request account deletion in Settings. Your account closes right away and you are signed out everywhere.

You have 30 days to change your mind. Sign in before your scheduled deletion date and choose Restore my account. Signing in alone does not restore it.

The same process works if you sign in with Google and have no Abeduls password.

If you cannot access your account, email support@abeduls.com so we can help verify your identity.

Closing your account and canceling a paid subscription are separate steps. Cancel your plan in Billing if you don't want to be charged again.

We reply to every privacy request within 30 days.

2. Asking us to delete information

After that date, your memories, capsules and files are permanently deleted, subject to the sealed capsule and retention rules below.

Your request can cover account details, Google information, memories, files and other personal information in account records and our storage.

You can still ask us to delete your Google identifier, name, email, profile picture URL and other account information.

3. Sealed time capsules

Sealed capsules intended for other people are delivered by default and deleted after opening plus a grace period. You can choose to delete them instead, so their recipients will never receive them. Sealed capsules only for you are always deleted.

4. Retained records, backups and shared copies

Some records and copies may remain after we remove the information covered by your request.

We may need to keep records for legal, accounting, dispute resolution or security reasons. Backup copies may remain until their retention period ends. We explain these exceptions and how long we expect them to last when we handle your request.

People you shared memories with may have copied or downloaded them, and we cannot delete copies outside Abeduls. For shared memories or content contributed by others, we explain what we can remove and any limits.

5. Disconnecting Google

You can disconnect Google from Abeduls in your Google Account at any time.

To stop using Google sign-in, open your Google Account linked apps page. Select Sign in with Google, choose Abeduls, then select See details. Select Stop using Sign in with Google, then Confirm. If Abeduls also appears under Access to your Google Account, open its details there. Select Remove access, then Confirm.

This stops future authorized access to your Google information. It does not delete what we already hold or automatically close your Abeduls account. To remove that information, send a deletion request using the steps above.
