Creating a time capsule

The time capsule builder has three steps. You can return to earlier steps before sealing:

• Start. Give it a name and choose who it is for. Complete this step to save your draft.

• Memories. Add your content and design pages in the canvas editor.

• Seal. Choose what it takes to open it, then seal it shut.

Design your memories together

After saving your draft, open a page from the Memories step in Designer. Compose a letter, a collage, or a page of memories with photos, rich text, shapes and frames. Invite your people when you want to design together.

In Chrome, Edge and Brave, photos imported through the Local tab stay on this device until you confirm an upload. Upload selected photos when you want collaborators to see them.

Export a page as a digital image in your browser. The shared document contains image references, filenames and dimensions; your local photo pixels do not reach collaborators or shared views until you choose to upload them.

Who it’s for

Every capsule belongs to someone. You choose who when you start:

• Just for you. A private note to your future self.

• For someone else. A gift that reaches them when it opens.

• Public. Anyone with the link can open it, once the moment arrives.

Save and come back anytime

After you complete the first step, your time capsule is saved as a draft. You can return to it and keep adding memories before you seal it.
